Initially developed for a private home, the geometric principle of the Tenerife Table have been explored further to form a family of coffee tables of various shapes, sizes, and heights. The concept is a versatile table, creating a variety of conditions to sit around, an idea that deformation creates a sense of place. The tabletops are constructed from four elliptic curve segments that share common axes, sometimes morphing in plan for a playful sculptural experience when looking down at them. The legs were developed in collaboration with Mario Meier, whose creative approach to wood turning result in a unique and efficient design. The four identical legs are quadrants of a circular, lathe-turned column, creating a visual belonging between them or parts of a whole.
The Tenerife Coffee Table is made in Switzerland.
