The X-Hocker started as a private project at a home on a lake. There was need for a stool that could be also used as a side table and exist as a sculptural object when not in use. Many different forms and variations tested the idea of interlocking wooden legs with a perfect 3D form, creating a large family of objects. These stools are a crossroad between analogue & digital, using CNC milling processes to create pure interlocking joints that appear simple but are in fact complex. The X-Hocker is assembled from four CNC cut wooden legs that interlock and cross at a single, central knot.
The Kreta edition is inspired by Greek tavern furniture, painted, and repainted with many layers of blue lacquer, building up a thick patina over time.
The X-Hocker is made in Switzerland.
