The Pipe was initially developed as a flexible and fun lighting system for the headquarters of Helvetia Patria in St. Gallen with the floor version of the lamp developed later and used in the project Elsässertor in Basel. The body is a single tubular steel structure, composed of a rigid lower part and a soft flexible upper part that can be adjusted to twist and bow in every direction. The stem is covered by a natural platinum silicone sheath and terminates with a conical shaped diffuser. The inner reflector with small side holes scatters dappled light to the peripheries whilst providing targeted task lighting.
